MSIG USA Names Oscar Aguilar to Lead E&S Property Unit
MSIG USA has appointed Oscar Aguilar as head of excess and surplus property, bringing over 20 years of underwriting experience to the role.
MSIG USA announced Tuesday the appointment of Oscar Aguilar as head of its excess and surplus property division, the company said in a statement released from New York.
Aguilar joins with more than two decades of underwriting and leadership experience concentrated in the property market, including deep expertise in excess and surplus lines as well as shared and layered property structures — a specialized segment of the insurance market that handles risks standard carriers decline to cover.

The appointment signals continued investment by MSIG USA in building out its E&S property capabilities, a sector that has drawn increased attention from insurers as climate-related risks and hard market conditions push more complex or high-hazard properties out of the admitted market and into the surplus lines space.
MSIG USA, the U.S. operating unit of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, competes in specialty commercial lines where E&S underwriting expertise is viewed as a critical differentiator. Industry observers note that experienced E&S property leaders are in high demand as carriers seek to manage elevated catastrophe exposures while maintaining disciplined underwriting standards.
